With the Target table tennis rubber series, the French manufacturer Cornilleau has succeeded in having the right answer for every level of play. With the introduction of the plastic ball, however, the expectations of players in terms of spin and speed have changed again. For this reason, Cornilleau has developed a new series of rubbers together with the tire manufacturer Michelin, which harmonize optimally in combination with the plastic ball.
The Target Pro XD comes with a cream-colored 52.5° power sponge and a very grippy, but not sticky surface. Overall, the durability as well as the power and the rotation development of the new XD variants could be optimized. In the hardest version, the Target Pro XD offers offensive topspin players all the possibilities of modern table tennis. The hard, compact sponge makes the service and return game very safe, as the catapuct effect in this variant is not too strong and you have a very good touch. However, as soon as you switch to the tempo-oriented game, the rubber gives you full power.
Of course, the rubber with this degree of hardness is not that easy to play and requires a minimum of technical skill. As long as the technology is in place, offensive players can also use the plastic ball to focus on maximum rotation and maximum speed. The French top player Can Akkuzu has decided for the Target Pro XD in max. for his forehand side!
